Fortnite system requirements for PC

So you are not the console gamer type. You’d rather play Fortnite on PC rather than the other platforms we described in a previous “what consoles can use” article.

There are many benefits to choosing a PC for your Fortnite adventures.

Playing Fortnite on pc

You can play with the keyboard and mouse, which is considered the most optimal and competitive control scheme. Read more about keyboard vs controller.

You also don’t have to pay to play online like you should on Xbox.

Whether you’re looking for a turnkey computer, laptop, or building your own beast machine, it’s important to know the system requirements to use Fortnite.

The good news is that it is not a demanding game.

If the reason you are looking for a new computer is Fortnite exclusive, then you can easily build one for a very low price that can even compete with the current generation of consoles.

Minimum requirements pc

The minimum requirements to run Fortnite on PC won’t give you the best graphics and frame rate. At least you’ll be able to play the game in a respectable state.

Since the game is not very heavy, it is better to buy or build a PC with the recommended requirements in mind.

However, if you’re using a machine you already own and it’s quite old or intended for work or school, this list of specs should give you an idea of whether or not Fortnite will run.

  • CPU: Core i3-3225 3.3GHz
  • RAM: 4GB RAM
  • Video Card: Intel HD 4000 on PC or Intel Iris Pro 5200 or equivalent AMD GPU
  • Operating System: Windows 7/8/10 64-bit
An important note for Mac users is that the game no longer supports Nvidia cards.

ASUS Cerberus GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is the premium graphics card designed with enhanced reliability and gaming performance for seamless gaming activities.

Best pc requirements Fortnite

As you can see, the minimum specs are nothing to write home about.

The beauty is also valid for the recommended requirements of the game. Buying or building a PC with these specs in mind shouldn’t put a dent in your wallet.

Please note that this is not a maximum required limit. Going higher won’t hurt and could get you a PC that can run other more demanding titles in addition to Fortnite.

  • CPU: Core i5-7300U 3.5GHz
  • RAM: 8GB RAM
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870 or equivalent DX11 GPU
  • Operating System: Windows 7/8/10 64-bit

Final Word

One thing to keep in mind is that many of these specs are quite outdated compared to the current PC market.

Most of the out-of-the-box builds come with higher-generation Intel processors.

In addition, it is fast becoming the standard for PCs with at least 6-8 GB of RAM at competitive prices. Graphics cards are also getting cheaper as newer ones hit the market.
